Gothenburg overview

Welcome to Gothenburg, widely regarded as Stockholm’s younger sibling. The city of Gothenburg may be the second largest Swedish city behind Stockholm, but as the old saying goes... size doesn’t matter. The city boasts some fascinating and downright beautiful landmarks that are alluring enough to make even its older sibling envious. Museums, art galleries, shopping malls, green spaces, amusement parks and an historic old district are just some of the attractions drawing hundreds of thousands of tourists each year. The city is also one of the largest university towns in Scandinavia, home to the University of Gothenburg. However, just because there are over 60,000 college students roaming the streets, prices in Gothenburg are no less expensive than the rest of Sweden or Scandinavia for that matter.
